stresso [2014]

for bass and electronics

Initially titled “this is why I smoke cigarettes,” stresso is a collaborative piece written with/for Zachary Moore and myself as a commentary on social function in Chicago. It focuses on the development of different characters under different social circumstances. The piece is a mass of granulized recordings of local social settings, quotations of Zachary and I’s favorite bands, gradually decaying structures, instrumental disassociation, moments of retreat and reprieve and general mayhem taking the shape of an in your face statement of the human experience.
